As the year unfolds, many important decisions need to be made, so the years after graduation are rewarding and productive. Keeping informed and planning carefully are important components of moving on after June. You will be receiving valuable information from the counseling office by way of announcements, monthly newsletters, and notes posted in senior classrooms. Pay close attention throughout the year as these notices will keep you informed of the latest developments. This website provides many valuable links to aid in your senior year.
The counseling office wishes you the best as you complete your final year at South Williamsport. If at any time you have any questions concerning military options, the college selection process, financial aid, or any other matters relative to your future, please come to the guidance office.
Selective Service System
If you are a male student and are 17 or 18 years old, you must register with Selective Service within 30 days of turning 18. This is not a school requirement; it’s the law. If you fail to register, it will affect your ability to receive Federal College loans, grants and student aid in most states. You can go online at www.sss.gov or fill out a registration card at any U.S. Post Office.
