The Freshman year is a very exciting, yet turbulent year. Many successful students recognize it as a milestone year when they are given many more scheduling choices, they earn a GPA (grade point average), they earn credits, they are ranked with their classmates, etc. Academically, it is the beginning of their college and career preparation. Socially, many students are searching for acceptance and individuality. A combination of patience, guidance, freedom and rules is needed.
